Role Overview:
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Cluster Medical Education Director.
The Medical Education Specialist will be responsible for providing a world-class level of customer service on a day-to-day basis that represents Smith+Nephew Medical Education in Italy in the designed Franchises, ensuring strategic alignment, consistency, and best practice.
Responsible for working closely with their franchise marketing partners by supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of our Medical Education activities, including initiatives such as medical education events, society engagement, KOL engagement, content, and simulation educational offerings to drive awareness, standard of care, product adoption and improved patient outcomes.
Perform all the required tasks in accordance with the local regulation, policies and procedures set forth by Professional Affairs, the Office of Compliance and Ethics, as well as the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Principles and the relevant industrial codes
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting educational needs from the country to formulate education plans, which are aligned with franchise business strategies.
- Responsible for the creation, updating and the promotion of the Medical Education calendars of all the local activities within the country.
- Managing the learning pathways to ensure the right type of education best suited to addressing the learning needs.
- Ensure all programs align with Smith & Nephew Business Conduct Standards and Compliance and support business objectives
- Research resources, make site visits, and lead pre-event meetings when necessary to help staff make decisions about event design
- Define best methods and tools for delivery of educational content (didactic, simulation, scientific labs [hospital and lab settings], webinars and digital tools)
- Responsible for all communications relating educational activities
- Lead nomination and registration process for faculty, delegates, and staff members through Cvent
- Assure the logistics related to course including registrations, course information and post course evaluation data analysis and reporting.
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, accommodation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials
- Ensure spend and selection of venues and vendors are within compliance guidelines
- Give on-site support in large-scale medical education courses
Administrative tasks
- Liaise with the local Professional Relations specialists on the HCP engagement process and the Educational Grant process
- Centris system?s inputs for the Med Ed activities in the country
- Reconcile and submit payments; tracking of the Medical Education spend for all the local activities
- Ensure an effective and accurate budget tracking
- Utilize technology such Zoom, Cvent, Teams, Esker, Centris and others as necessary
- Perform all the required tasks related to local regulations relating to the HCPs invitation process (authorizations, notifications, anonymous invitation process for public employees, liberatoria signature?), transparency etc?

Education:
Diploma/ Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Experience in planning and executing educational events in medical device or healthcare experience preferred.
Language skills: Proficient English and Portuguese
