Assistant Professor Veterinary Medicine (m/f/d)

Essential Functions


  • Lecture assigned undergraduate courses in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings
  • Prepare materials for lecturing and participate in curriculum development activities
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, and serve on university committees
  • Pursue professional development opportunities (i.e. presentations and publications)
  • Serve as an academic advisor/supervisor for students and evaluate student coursework
  • Supervise laboratories, independent study activities, and off-campus training and learning
  • Engage in other extra activities to or in support of her or his responsibilities
  • Engage in other University-related activities to the professional or lay community
  • Other related duties as assigned


Education/background


Required Education: Applicants must hold a DVM/VMD degree from a college of veterinary medicine and must hold a PhD degree.


Required Degree Equivalence/Recognition: Foreign applicants must be able to have their degrees recognized by a Portuguese Higher Education Institution.


Required Experience: Early career as well as more established applicants are welcome to apply. Experience in veterinary clinics is valued, including relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: General anatomy / Pathologic anatomy / Histology / Physiology


Experience lecturing at university level is valued.


Working languages: Portuguese | French | English (Preference is given to French but Portuguese and English are mandatory)
