Communisis is in the business of marketing services. We optimise marketing activities by adding value to customer and prospect communications, online and offline. We work with our customers on the planning, creation and delivery of their marketing communications and POS material.

The role

In this role you will be sourcing marketing materials for Project Managers that meet our client needs whilst delivering best value for Communisis. Based at our site in Lisbon, Portugal, but on a hybrid arrangement meaning you can work from your home/remotely up to 3 days a week and be site based at least 2 days.

This is a fixed term contract, initially for 6 months but with a possible extension/long term role for the right person.

• Maintain an excellent knowledge of approved supply base by spend category and by geography


• Work with Strategic Sourcing to identify and on-board new suppliers and to deactivate redundant suppliers KPI ? supplier spend concentration


• Select the most appropriate sourcing method [e.g. e-Auction/RFQ]


• Create and issue RFQ to suppliers based on a selected shortlist influenced by capability and suitability KPI - Number of RFQs per week


• Issue RFQ via most appropriate method / system (incl. IQ, Curtis Fitch)


• Deal with vendor queries and validated returned quotation material


• Run e-Auction event(s) KPI ? Number and value of auctions and auction benefit


• Negotiate with vendors to obtain best outcome for Communisis, considering total cost of ownership rather than only by price KPI ? difference between pre and post negotiation price


• Consider the best outcome for Communisis based on the client commercial model that will prevail for the job KPI ? Communisis margin contribution by job


• Selection vendor and agree CPS with them


• Ensure Admin team place order with supplier Monitor supplier performance, locally and in aggregate, so that this can be taken in to consideration in future buying decisions. KPI ? supplier performance within scope of role


• Be ready to get involved with any commercial disputes that might arise between Communisis and the vendor.

• Previous experience purchasing Marketing materials. Knowledge of the local market advantegous


• Commercially minded with a track record of delivering strong results


• Experience of sourcing and negotiating with suppliers


• Understanding of modern sourcing tools and techniques


• Excellent knowledge of marketing communications portfolio


• Proven experience of managing or working successfully with multiple stakeholder groups and/or locations


• Naturally inquisitive, and challenging ? looking at new or better ways of delivering excellent results


• Understands Value vs. Cost ? operates to a TCO model and can evaluate cost element


• Bi-lingual - Portuguese & English


• Someone with experience within printing industry 2D and 3D printing ideally ? will be sourcing metal, wood, cardboard, etc for printing


• Strong communications skills


• Good excel skills ? used daily
