Inflammatix, Inc. lab location in Lisbon, Portugal houses a small but very interdisciplinary team with strong experience in biomolecular assay development/optimization as well as medical device development all the way through to manufacturing. The Lisbon team works closely with our U.S. team to support the various areas of product development. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in early-stage development of a growing biotech company and to do so at our site, which is in a beautiful location by the river in the heart of Lisbon.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

This internship is laboratory-based and requires exceptional attention to detail for the execution and analysis of complex quantitative molecular experiments. The primary focus will be development of RNA extraction methods for use with gene expression studies using state of the art digital technologies. The successful intern will be expected to plan, execute, analyze and document sample preparation experiments, process clinical samples for gene expression analysis, perform RNA extraction from human samples, and present experiment results to the team. This work will be very important for optimization of our microfluidic gene expression IVD assays. This internship will provide exposure to the technical aspects of various multi-disciplinary projects under development in the lab and will be supported by a strong team of scientists.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Current college student pursuing a degree preferably in a related science field (eg. Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy)


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to work independently and in a team setting


• Strong sense of accountability


• Be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks

COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION:

• Classification: Paid internship position, expected 40 hours a week
