Hello, we are GetGround. We are a well-funded series A Tech scaleup in Europe and Asia with a mission to make the world fairer and more productive. We are doing this by making assets more transparent, trustworthy and accessible - starting with real estate. Incomes have stagnated, so more access to wealth generating things like real estate = less wealth inequality. We are disruptors building a global network for trading illiquid assets - and we have first mover advantage!

Our Co-Founder and CEO Moubin qualified as a Doctor and went on to have a successful career at McKinsey and private equity house, APAX. Moubin started GetGround with his brother and our CTO, Misrab. Misrab is a Stanford Computer Scientist that led the scaling of the Gojek Data Science team in Asia.

What we do - in more detail

GetGround is developing the infrastructure for a global digital marketplace for assets enveloped in companies. Trillions of dollars of assets are tied in inefficient illiquid markets - think property, ships, factory machinery & infrastructure to name a few.
Enveloping an asset in a company unlocks liquidity by enabling the right legal basis for asset ownership, governance and exchange. However companies, one of humanity's greatest inventions, are stuck in the past. We are digitising and automating the company - starting by tackling UK private residential investment property, with £1.3 trillion of stock and £30-50 billion in transactions a year.

Senior QA Automation Engineer | Portugal

(Working remotely is possible - as long as you can come to the office approximately once per quarter. You must have the right to work permanently in Portugal)

Engineering is led by our CTO and Co-Founder, Misrab, a Stanford Computer Scientist, and our new Porto-based Engineering Director Joao, who recently joined us from Talkdesk. You can read about our philosophy to product engineering here.

QAs at GetGround work on projects such as financial infrastructure, robust systems for high value transactions and company management. We primarily use Golang (don't worry, if you don't know Go yet we'll help you ramp up on it) and React/Redux, in a GCP environment. We care about thoughtful, tested, documented code that delivers excellence to our customers.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a product with significant market fit as it scales exponentially. Beyond strong traditional technical skills, we're huge fans of clean design thinking and architecting, as well as communication and an ability to learn and adapt.

What you will do

• As a senior individual contributor, you will have responsibility for the technical roadmap for automation projects - you will work closely with the QA Engineers, though won't directly manage them


• Work with other domains (e.g. Developers, SRE, QA, PM) to execute and implement automation strategies


• Build large-scale technology that can change the world for the better!


• Create automated testing strategy for existing and new portfolio of web applications and RESTful APIs


• Reviews tests. Adds as well as subtracts where relevant.


• Collaborate with engineers to create automation for function and non-functional testing


• Bring real attention to detail


• Drive the scrum process by managing deployments from staging to production

The experience you will have

• In-depth knowledge of and experience with automated testing tools for functional testing (Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber etc.)


• Knowledge of Scrum, and experience of taking part in core ceremonies


• Ability to write automated tests using scripting languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.)


• Understanding testing with respect to Restful APIs and microservices


• Able to automate testing flows with continuous integration pipelines (CircleCI, etc)


• Curiosity and ability to learn what's required to get the job done


• A passion for documentation and a eye for detail
