SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated Development Engineer to support the development, prototyping, optimization, and manufacturing transfer of our molecular in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. This role is primarily lab-based and may require travel to overseas facilities as required; this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a flexible and fast-paced startup environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute to the implementation of a novel prototyping setup to support new
  product development and manufacturing process development and
  
  optimization


• Contribute to workflow definition with process efficiency and prototype
  
  quality as focal points


• Interact with Assay and Engineering Development teams to support feasibility
  work for potential new products and applications


• Based on experience with the new prototyping setup, participate critically in
  
  manufacturing process definition, optimization, and troubleshooting


• Collaborate in a thoughtful, professional manner with team members to
  
  achieve group goals and meet timeline

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in an Engineering discipline plus PhD or relevant experience


• Proficient in English, oral and written


• Experience in a development environment (academic or industrial setting)


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


• Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to deliver on projects and assignments within timeframes, prioritize and multi-task.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with medical device development


• Experience with CAD packages (e.g., Solidworks)


• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python)


• Experience with handling of biological reagents


• Experience with microfabrication

• Classification: Full-time
