ROLE DESCRIPTION
TASIS Portugal seeks qualified teachers who wish to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. Teachers at this school will play a key role in developing and delivering the instructional program, and support the Headmaster in building the finest teaching and learning environment, as well as supporting TASIS Portugal?s educational aims and overall mission.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher, preferably with a professional teaching certification, very positive supervisory references, and a demonstrated interest in all facets of school life. He or she will be enthusiastic about professional development, professional learning communities, and sharing and learning best practices in pedagogy. As an effective team member, he or she will strive to support both his or her peers, staff, and the school administration. Teachers with experience in international schools, domestic independent schools, and experience with either or both Singapore Math and the Core Knowledge curriculum will be given preference. Importantly, teachers willing to go the extra mile to support students, who believe every child can be successful, and who understand that together we can make a tremendous difference in the lives of the young people in our school are the sorts of professionals we want to join us.
English is the language of instruction and therefore teachers should be fully fluent in both written and oral English. Oral fluency in Portuguese would also be an asset. A pleasant and positive disposition, good manners, and the desire to be part of a teaching team is essential. Although a day school, occasional weekend participation may be requested.
