Within Group BNP Paribas Finance Function, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Finance is the department that measures, controls and explains the financial reporting of the Region?s entities, covering a large part of BNP Paribas Business Lines. EMEA Finance is a cross-border organization with teams operating in Paris, Madrid and Lisbon on behalf of the different countries of the Region.

Within EMEA Finance, EMEA Subject Matter Stream Capital Markets is in charge of the accounting production for some of the Capital Market activities of BNPP (Equities, Commodities notably) or is in charge of their supervision for some others (FX, Credit and Interest rate Swaps, Bonds). The team is located in Portugal

Your Main Activities Are

• Operate processes allowing the measurement of Financial Risks relating to key accounting controls (notably sensitive account control, Back Office (BO)/Accounting reconciliations, BO/ external reconciliation including nostri, account substantiation)

  
  

• Analyse the results of the abovementioned controls in order to challenge them and summarize the key risks associated to them

  
  

• Analyse the results of the sub-certification process related to business and accounting activities

  
  

• Assess if provisions proposed by 1st line of defence are in line with the level of the risks which were assessed

  
  

• Operate transversal accounting controls

  
  

• Report and participate to the decision-making process through:

  
  

• Reporting and quarterly synthesis to the related perimeters and to the management

  
  

• Provide to entity?s 2nd Line of Defence a synthesis of the risk assessment through certification process and dedicated presentations

  
  

• Participate in the remediation on the key accounting control

  
  

Profile and Skills to Success

• Master?s degree in Accounting, Finance or Bank

  
  

• Professional experience: up to 4 years of experience in external or internal audit or control department

  
  

• Analytical skills, organizational capacities, rigour and deadlines respect

  
  

• Communication skills (good relational capacities, teamwork and adaptability)

  
  

• Working experience in an international environment appreciated

  
  

• Effective analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  
  

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  
  

• Ability to work effectively in a highly demanding environment with multiple competing priorities both independently and as part of a team

  
  

About the Team

• The position is within the L1 oversight team of EMEA Subject Matter Stream Capital Market.

  
  

• Capital Market activities are one of the most sensitive activities of the BNPP Group in terms of Financial Control. They require the development of numerous skills in a demanding environment and allow wide career opportunities.

  
  

• The team directly provides assessments of financial risks (based on the analysis of the quality of the financial data and associated control plans) to his Management and LOD2 Controls team.

  
  

• As a Financial Control Officer within L1 oversight, you are responsible for monitor the effective implementation of financial risk mitigation strategies, framework & actions with departments acting as 1st line of defence wherever located (Portugal, France notably).
