About CNS
Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia?s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.

Job Description
At Nokia Software we are looking for a Solution Architect to join our dynamic team based in Amadora, Portugal.
The Solution Architect is responsible to provide leadership and a senior level solution consulting service in customer projects, through his/her ability to understand customer's business / technical needs and translating them into a solution. In addition, is responsible for designing and executing complex integration, operations or performance solutions for customers & Shares professional knowledge to guide others.
Job Responsibilities & Competencies:

• Provides senior level solution consulting service, having expertise in SDM, IMS and Telco-cloud Portfolio; acts as a source of expertise for colleagues


• Design and leads the identification and specification of complex solutions in complex customer environment.


• Develops detailed customer solution design & architecture and perform technical risk evaluation for overall technical solution.


• Owns technical part of bid preparation: requirements review, solution design/architecture, planning, effort estimates, scope of work, bill of material, etc.


• Presents offered solution design/architecture to customer and verify/adapt it during realization phase


• Liaises with GS Engagement Architect and other members of the regional team as well as with Product Managers, Project manager and 3rd party product manager to align customer requirements with available generic solutions, Nokia products and 3rd party products


• Performs crosschecking of built racks in server room, cabling power & network into customer environment

Requirements & qualifications:

• Good Knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE Networks and Call flows


• Solution design & Implementation of Core Network Elements including SDM, IMS and Telco-cloud


• Experience in Solution Design Creation for SDM products


• Previous experience in Solution Deployment and Solution Architecture Creation support


• Strong understanding of Mobile Network (2G, 3G, 4G & 5G)


• Advanced level on Operating System such as Linux or Solaris


• Good experience in Unix/Linux commands


• Experience in networking troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark


• Experience in virtualization - VMWare or Open stack


• Good experience in Router and Switch configuration


• Travel availability: 20% of the time on domestic or international travels (now delivering remotely due to pandemic situation)


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Basic knowledge of HP product details


• Basic Knowledge of firmware.


• Basic scripting language expertise (Shell script, PERL)


• Basic Knowledge of IP


• Basic understanding of R4, SDM & IMS Call Flow
