The Credit Solutions team is hiring an analyst for its portfolio management vertical, supporting the fast growing US CLO, Senior Portfolio Financing (SPF) & Loan TRS businesses.

The analyst will review and monitor the underlying collateral of leveraged loans (both single-name and portfolios), maintain and implement the team?s portfolio management systems and processes and assists with general transaction management (including the preparation of annual and quarterly reviews)

Your Main Activities Are

• Credit Management:

• In support of the CLO warehousing, Senior Portfolio Financing and Loan TRS activity, assist with processing and reviewing each name being contributed into financing facilities:
  
  • Conduct rigorous credit analysis:
  
  
  • Performing fundamental analysis on leveraged borrowers, including reviewing company financials, marketing documents as well as analysing earnings & lender calls
  
  
  • Identify key credit strengths, risks and mitigants
  
  
  • Analyze various capital structure scenarios
  
  
  • Conduct cash flow & valuation analysis;
  
  
  • Analyze the technical and market factors that influence primary and secondary credit activity
  
  
  • Assist with credit decisions (approve/decline loan purchases)
  
  
  • Assist credit analysts in evaluating legal documents including credit agreements, bankruptcy filings, guarantee and security agreements, intercreditor agreements and indentures.
  
  
  • Ensure the regular risk monitoring and maintenance of the portfolio of transactions, including
    
    • annual reviews
    
    
  • quarterly rating and capital review processes
  
  
  • completion of rating/GRR forms
  
  
  • preparation of dashboards documenting the performances of the facilities.
  
  
  • Ad-hoc management of significant credit events (e.g., amendments, waivers, restructurings, etc.)
  
  
  • Research credit/deal information on an as-needed basis
  
  

• Data Management:

• Assist in the maintenance of the credit database, including creating new entries, updating existing entries, preparing financial models, and troubleshooting errors


• Maintain and organize the deal document directory, including information sent by clients or posted on shared data site

• Reporting:

• Leverage the credit database to aid in data analysis, exposure breakdowns, and internal reports


• Assist with creating monthly reports to be uploaded into the credit database

• Transversal Projects:

• Help manage and track deal approval pipeline


• Help maintain and update internal policies and procedures as needed


• Liaise with IT and other stakeholders for improvement of AFS tools; assist in testing updated tools


• Support the team?s administrative duties, transversal projects & ad hoc management requests.

Profile and Skills to Success

• Undergraduate degree with a quantitative emphasis (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, natural sciences, engineering, economics, etc.); Master?s degree with finance curriculum preferred


• Knowledge (obtained through university study and / or professional experience) of corporate and acquisition finance


• Fluent in English


• Excellent written and oral communication skills


• Excel knowledge is crucial; VBA, database and programming are a plus


• Experience with M&A transactions - particularly LBO financing.


• Solid understanding of deal structuring and legal documentation.


• Financial modelling experience


• Credit Analysis knowledge and financial accounting


• Understanding and analysing complex products, related risks, and underlying legal documentation


• Knowledge of capital, liquidity, and accounting rules regarding securitization


• Ability to parse through company financial information and financial models


• Ability to communicate and develop good working relationships with different departments both locally and offshore (AFS Structuring and Origination, Middle Office, Finance, Risk, Legal, IT, etc.)


• Strong initiative, commitment, and willingness and ability to learn


• Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information, including legal documentation and large datasets


• Flexible, good team player


• Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines while maintaining high standards


• Strong organization skills and an eye for detail

Asset Finance & Securitization (AFS) is a global business within BNP Paribas CIB, straddling activities across both Global Banking & Global Markets. The AFS umbrella includes several businesses, including includes Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) & Credit Solutions, Asset-based Securities (ABS), Project & Infrastructure Finance & Transportation Finance.

Credit Solutions is a strategic activity of BNPP that sits within the Asset Financing and Securitization Platform. The Credit Solutions team consists of professionals with experience in the financing of leveraged loan portfolios, and the warehousing, structuring, arranging and placing credit securitization transactions. Credit Solutions offers standardized products as well as bespoke solutions spanning from liquid to illiquid credit assets, spanning leveraged loans (broadly syndicated and middle market/non-traded) as well as other high-yielding securities. Products include shorter-dated mark-to-market financing (e.g., TRS, repo) against single-name instruments as well as financing against portfolios of loans, including (i) shorter-dated (1-3 years) warehouse financing intended to support CLO take-outs and (ii) longer-dated (3-5 years) senior portfolio financing that provides leverage to credit funds, supporting them through the lifecycle of their investment strategies. The adjacent CLO structuring offers clients the ability to securitize portfolios of loans and achieve financing through the capital markets.
