Opening call for the selection of 2 Research Fellowship for PhD students, within the scope of the R&D project ?ITEC Smart Automation I4.0?, NORTE-01-0247-FEDER-045073, funded by FEDER through Northern Portugal Regional Operational Programme (NORTE 2020), in the following terms: Scientific Area: Medical Electronics Engineering Application requirements: Candidates must have, at the date of application, a Master’s degree in Medical Engineering, or related areas. At time of processing the contract the candidates must provide the proof of registration in one of the following: ? Doctoral Program Medical Electronics Engineering or related areas. ? Non-academic degree courses, integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, in Medical Electronics Engineering or related areas. Eligibility of applicants: Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria defined in article 9º of the ?Regulamento de Bolsas da Universidade do Minho?, published at ?Diário da República n.º 119/2020, Série II de 2020-06-22?. Work Plan: The work consists in developing a execution engine for Halcon scripts and de development of a graphical interface for automatic visual inspection applications. Applicable legislation and regulations: ?Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação?, approved by Law nº 40/2004 of 18th of August, in its current form published by Decree-Law nº 123/2019 of 28th of August; ?Regulamento de Bolsas da Universidade do Minho?, published at ?Diário da República n.º 119/2020, Série II de 2020-06-22?. Host Institution and Scientific orientation: The work will be developed at Center for Microeletromechanical Systems (CMEMS-UMinho) of University of Minho, Gualtar Campus – Braga, under the supervision of Professor Carlos Silva. Fellowship Terms: These fellowships will have a duration of 6 months and are expected to start on July/2021. The fellowship contract may be renewed, upon positive evaluation, until the maximum duration allowed in the project and in the law in force. Fellowship Monthly Allowance: The monthly amount for of these fellowship corresponds to 1104,64?, according to ?Anexo II ? Tabela dos montantes das Bolsas?, in ?Regulamento de Bolsas da Universidade do Minho?. Other benefits: Voluntary Social Insurance Reimbursement, corresponding to the 1st level of discounts correspondent to the Index of Social Support (IAS) (applied for fellowship of 6 months or more) and Personal Accident Insurance. Members of the Jury: President- Professor Carlos Alberto Batista da Silva (CMEMS-UMinho); Effective Members- Professor José Higino Gomes Correia (CMEMS-UMinho) and Professor Carlos Manuel Gregório Santos Lima (CMEMS-UMinho). Substitute members: Professor Cristina Manuela Peixoto Santos (CMEMS-UMinho) and Professor Sérgio Adriano Fernandes Lopes (DEI, UMinho). If the President is unavailable he shall be replaced by the first effective member and a substitute member will be appointed to replace the effective member. Method and Evaluation Criteria: The evaluation of the applications will focus on the Merit of the Candidate – MC (100%): MC=(a*0,5)+(b*0,4)+(c*0,1) a) Academic Path (50%); b) Personal curriculum (40%); c) Motivation Letter (10%) The classification obtained in the Evaluation Parameters is expressed in a numerical scale of 1 to 5 points. If none of the candidates demonstrate to have an suitable profile for the execution of the work plan, the Jury is entitled to close this call without selecting a candidate. Documents stating academic degrees and diplomas, or their recognition when referring to degrees obtained in foreign institutions, could be replaced at the application stage, by a Declaration of Honour from the candidate. The originals are required at the stage of preparing the contract. This declaration should state facts only prior to the application. If the information on the declaration differs from the documentation submitted towards the contract preparation, only this last one is considered. If the documentation stating the degrees and diplomas, or their recognition when referring to degrees obtained in foreign institutions (according to Decree-Law n.º 66/2018, from 18th August), do not match the scores considered in the evaluation stage, and could change the final ranking of the applicant, the contract will not be processed. Note: Applicants with foreign academic degrees must present proof of recognition of the academic degree in Portugal with conversion of the final grade to the Portuguese scale, or a declaration of honor (described in the previous point). The candidates who do not present these documents, the jury will assign the minimum grade for the bachelor?s degree, according to the defined scale of values. Publication of results: The proposed decision, including the minutes referring to the evaluation/selection process, will be sent to the candidates by e-mail, within 90 working days after the deadline for submission of applications. In case of unfavourable results, applicants have 10 working days to pronounce for the purpose of preliminary hearing of the interested parties, pursuant to article 121 and 122 of the Code of Administrative Procedure (DL nº 4 / 2015 of January 7th). Complaint and appeal procedures: The final results will be publish as an ordered list (alphabetically, according to the final grade obtained), posted in a visible and public place of the Host Unit, and sent by e-mail to all applicants, attaching for that purpose, the minutes with the jury?s deliberations. The selected candidate should reply in writing the intention to accept the fellowship. In case of non-acceptance, the fellowship will be awarded to the next applicant in the final ranking. The final results could be contested, within 15 working days, with an appeal addressed to the President of the Jury. This appeal could also be addressed to the Pro-rector for R&D, Professor Filipe Vaz. The candidates may lodge a complaint against the final decision, within 15 working days, to the President of the Jury. Interested parties may also submit an optional hierarchical appeal, addressed to the Pro-Rector for Research and Projects, Professor Doctor Filipe Vaz. Application Documents: It is mandatory, under penalty of non-admissibility, that the candidate attaches the following documents to the application: Curriculum Vitae (CV); Bachelor Degree Certificate with grades or Declaration of Honour; Motivation letter.
