Role purpose:

CIAS DevOps Program implements cognitive algorithms and automation to enhance network operations support. Operations Engineer will join the environment management domain working under the existing NOC CIAS Application Maintenance and Operations Team.

On this role you will work on the daily environment management support for all activities related with Business as Usual (BAU) of an Operation team (ITIL L1 to L3) . You will be focus on the Operating system administration, environment management (including virtualization) and application configurations related with Automation process and ticket Journey/vertical blocks process troubleshooting and Operational enhancements. You will be responsible to work with remaining operations team to assure the CIAS stability and system availability according the agreed business service levels .

Environment managers engineer will articulate on daily basis with Vodafone CIAS Change Manager, Application Operation and DevOps Squads, acting as system gardians and controller to assure the stability of the platform on all change management process on the different CIAS environments (SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod and PRD).

You will maintain and upgrade existing Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines assuring that deployments activities are well orchestrated and follow all the necessary steps to ensure the proper deployment procedures.

This person is also accountable to assure the necessary system configuration and administration management flows are done throughout the defined implementation process and reflected in all enviroments under the scope of CIAS Operations team.

Under this team and role is also environment management activities related with the necessary stability to perform the administration, configuration and deployment task related with release and hot fix deliveries.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Assure all environment administration and management activities to assure system stability.
• Assure and perform the environment system administration tasks for configure and execute the change management implementation activities.
• Provide technical direction on environments strategy & considerations for solution performance, security, scalability, availability, maintainability, disaster recovery and uptime.
• Create , update and maintain the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) framework across the CIAS deliver as part of Agile methodology
• Assure all environments and release management strategy
• Orchestrate release activities and environment capabilities to assure that agile team can deliver in ?short iterations and frequent releases?;
• Assure planned and unplanned release (including hot-fix deployments) management and coordination activities;
• Contribute to planning release calendar across CIAS DevOps Squads on our technology ?and business?;
• Ability to share best practices for CI/CD and release management standards to the teams (DevOPs and AO);
• Hand-on ability to automate repeated deployment tasks and build implementation change management procedures coverage;
• Design, develop and test complex integration deployment tools, that are used in the delivery pipeline during the automated deployment, using latest technologies; Core competencies, knowledge and experience
• Environment and configuration management experience;
• Drive best practices of environment management strategy within a DevOps/agile ecosystem;
• Passion for increase environment management , cloud administration and virtualization principles inside DevOps with continuous delivery approach to reduce impact and increase solution delivery timelines;
• Good communication skills, with proven ability to work cross functional teams to translate business issues into potential analytics solutions.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Master knowledge and experience with OS sys Admin (Linux);
• Very Strong knowledge and experience working with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Very string knowledge and experience in Scripting, command line and operating systems administration knowledge ? Windows, Unix;
• Very strong knowledge and experience working with cloud environments (IaaS,PaaS)
• Strong Knowledge with IT network configurations , troubleshooting and management activities;
• Knowledge in configurations , troubleshootin and management of Application Servers ( ex. Weblogic, JBoss, Tibco);
• Strong knowledge and experience managing database administration (relational – Oracle and non-relational – IMPALA);
• Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) approach in DevOps:
• knowledge on Software?s Release Lifecycle Management products to implement CI/CD pipelines (e.g: sonar, Jenkins, Ansible)
• Strong knowledge of JIRA for release management purpose;
• Good analytical skills (listening, questioning, challenging etc.);
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, namely Scrum and Kanban

Preferred technical/professional experience

• Master?s or Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or MIS.
