Regional Payroll Lead

We are looking to expand our team by hiring a new Regional Payroll Lead - Europe/Africa, a team player who is ready to make the role their own and bring their own ideas and innovations to the table. Reporting to the Director of Global Payroll Operations, the Payroll Lead is responsible for overseeing part of our European and North African regional payroll operations, applying business knowledge in global payroll in providing subject matter expertise in support of our internal teams and clients across the region. The Payroll Lead will also support the day-to-day activities of the HR and Finance operations teams. The Payroll Lead will be advising on statutory requirements, new hire reporting, terminations, and other payroll processes, with emphasis on meeting the compliance needs and exemplary customer service.
This position is based in Portugal as a remote role.
Key responsibilities:
- Following process and procedures, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all regional payroll entries and transactions.
- Defines, administers, modifies, and enforces the payroll processing schedules and calendars.
- Coordinates payroll activities with other Elements departments; administers and controls the adjustment pay, and termination pay process.
- Develops and maintains an accurate and timely method of reporting payroll data to Accounting.
- Undertakes the regional lead role for all payroll reporting, data analysis, and audit projects.
- Monitors reconciliation of garnishments, tax levies, general deductions, and payroll-related employment inquiries with HR team members.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of prevailing payroll laws and any changes occurring or planned in each of the regional countries either by attending appropriate seminars, evaluating, and articulating an understanding of relevant payroll communications, ensuring that the Company remains in compliance with the statutory requirements.
What we value:
- You hold a bachelor?s degree with major coursework in Finance, HR management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (preferred).
- You have a minimum of 7 years of experience, combining Payroll Management and Coordination roles, and encompassing relevant countries in the region.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English, additional language is a plus.
- You have professional Human Resources and/or multi-national HR & Payroll process and system functional management experience (required).
- You have good organizational, time and projects management, customer service skills.
- You have the ability to work well as part of a team, but also lead, mentor, and grow people around.
- You the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
