Research position for a Research Grant (?Bolsa de Investigação para Mestre inscrito em Doutoramento?) A research position for one Research Grant is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the research project PREDICT - PTDC/CCI-CIF/29877/2017.

The Rheumatic Diseases Portuguese Register (Reuma.pt), developed by the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology (SPR), tackles all rheumatic patients treated with biological agents in mainland Portugal, Madeira the Azores, ensuring effective monitoring of treatment indication, efficacy, and safety. The main objective of this work is to investigate several health outcomes in Spondyloarthritis patients (from Reuma.pt) under biological therapies. Probabilistic graphical models present good interpretable models, allowing for tasks such as clustering, modeling, and inference.

Admission Requirements:
Master in Engineering or Maths. Experience in multivariate time series data processing and analysis (preferable).

Work Objectives:
Stratify patients with Spondyloarthritis under biological therapies (from Reuma.pt database) and perform tasks such as modeling and inference in each group, eliciting predictors for each treatment/outcome. Graphical models are required for clinicians' interpretation.

Place of work:
The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Lisbon, under the supervision of Professor Alexandra Carvalho.

Duration:
8 months with the possibility of renewal. Start date: 16-02-2021 (or soon thereafter).

Monthly salary:
1.074,64? (net), according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer.

Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to:

F = C1 x 40% + C2 x 50% + C3 x 10%

In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2...
