Reconciliation Officer Full-time

The ?SSC Reconciliations? team is fully part of the ?CIB Portugal Solutions, Transversal services? which main clients are Global Markets Front office, BP2S lines, GMO Operations.


?SSC Reconciliations? team is in charge of ensuring the integrity and the exhaustiveness of the cash and securities positions with regards to custodian records.


ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES


  • Within the ?SSC Reconciliations? team, your major areas of responsibilities will cover:

    • Daily controls and monitoring of the reconciliation between BO and Custodians databases

    • Allocate all Nostri breaks to dedicated teams and provide escalation for risky breaks


    • Expertise in the reconciliations, propose systems enhancements

  • Perform the daily reconciliation of Nostro and Securities accounts


  • Investigate and allocate the breaks in Intellimatch to the respective Departments


  • Ensure that the breaks are reported to the respective Departments


  • Perform the manual matching agreed/requested by internal client, ensuring that the write-off tolerance is respected


  • Understand and get trained in all the tasks/activities related to the process


  • Interact with CSDs, Sub-Custodians and Cash Correspondent Banks in order to get additional information for unidentified entries


  • Prioritize the work and conduct investigation with due diligence on all the discrepancies


  • Escalate unresolved open items to the Team Leader


  • Understand the risks inherent to the daily activity and the existing Control Framework to mitigate the risks identified


  • Taking corrective measures/actions along with the Team Leader


  • Seek for a constant automatization of the processes, in order to ensure that the auto-matching rate for all sites is maintained at a consistent level


  • Identifying exceptions and out of balance situations and liaise with internal departments to reach resolution in a timely manner;


  • Maintain Communication Channels with internal business teams


  • Ensure the Knowledge transfer between the team on a periodic basis


  • Participate on Brain Storming /Cross Knowledge sessions and share the best practices and ideas with the team members


  • Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete and accurate


PROFILE


  • Proficient in English, French preferable


  • Bachelor degree in relevant area


  • Professional experience in banking operations preferable
